Volleyball Recap: DSST: Green Valley Ranch Comes Up Short

After flying high against Aurora West College Prep Academy on Monday, DSST: Green Valley Ranch came back down to earth. The Raptors fell just short of the DSST: College View Wolves by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch wouldn't go down easily and took DSST: College View into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-14, 25-13, 15-25, 15-12.

Jerzey Jacobus paced DSST: Green Valley Ranch's offense, picking up 15 kills. Jacobus got some help from Mariam Qasemi and her 40 assists. Janice Amoah controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Leading DSST: College View to victory were Lesli Chavez and Ana Solis. Chavez hit 100% for eight kills and 44 digs and five aces, while Solis had 34 assists and eight aces. That's the most assists Solis has posted over her last six matchups.

With the defeat, DSST: Green Valley Ranch broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 10-9. As for DSST: College View, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Looking ahead, DSST: Green Valley Ranch will head out to square off against Bruce Randolph at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for DSST: College View, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rangeview at 6:30 p.m.
