Brooke Allen and Becca Munslow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Allen pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Munslow struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Allen went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Munslow went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Savannah Smith and Ainsley Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Phillips went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Phillips a new career-high. Caroline ABE was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Jefferson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Mills only posted a batting average of .059.
Jefferson pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Mills, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Jefferson hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Spring Mills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs.
