Basketball Game Preview: Fayette Ware Wildcats vs. South Gibson Hornets

The Fayette Ware Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the South Gibson Hornets at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Fayette Ware is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.

Fayette Ware came up into this matchup off a tough 30-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Jackson Christian by a score of 67-64 on Saturday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, Fayette Ware saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Morgan Crutcher, who posted 27 points and six boards, was perhaps the best of all. Crutcher is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ke'Miyah Buggs, who earned 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, South Gibson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 50-44 to Jackson South Side.

Fayette Ware now has a losing record at 5-6. As for South Gibson, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.

Fayette Ware came up short against South Gibson in their previous matchup back in February, falling 47-37. Thankfully for Fayette Ware, Hallie Allen (who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
