Basketball Recap: Greeley Central Triumphs

Greeley Central won the last time they faced Wellington, and Daniel Martinez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Greeley Central Wildcats walked away with a 60-48 victory over the Wellington Eagles on Tuesday thanks to Martinez, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Greeley Central's points.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Moore, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 16 boards. Those 16 rebounds gave Moore a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Ferris, who posted 11 points and eight boards.

Greeley Central's record is now 6-13. As for Wellington, they are on a 37-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Greeley Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-31 loss against Timnath on the 13th. As for Wellington, they have also already played their next contest, a 76-48 defeat against Liberty Common on the 13th.
