Basketball Recap: Audrey Rollins Key Part of a Team Effort in Panthers Win

Nease won the last time they faced Hilliard and things went their way on Thursday too. The Nease Panthers walked away with a 57-49 win over the Hilliard Red Flashes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Nease's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audrey Rollins, who posted 14 points and five boards. Rollins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. McKenna Owens was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points and five steals.

When it comes to explaining why Hilliard lost, don't look at Alyssa Hallman. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Hallman is becoming a predictor of Hilliard's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is 11-2 (and 3-6 when she doesn't). Reah Saunders also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

The victory got Nease back to even at 11-11. As for Hilliard, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Nease wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 39-38 defeat against Tocoi Creek on the 31st. Hilliard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
