Baseball Recap: Highlands Beats Riverview for Their Fourth Straight Win

Highlands made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Riverview, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Highlands blew past Riverview 8-2 on Thursday. The Golden Rams' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Troy Bielak was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jake King was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Kristian Kocon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Highlands was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverview only posted a batting average of .136.

Highlands' record now sits at 3-0. As for Riverview, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Coming up, Highlands will venture away from home to square off against Indiana at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverview, they will welcome Brentwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
