Football Recap: Farmersville Takes a Loss

Farmersville played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 63-16 loss at the hands of the Strathmore Spartans. The Aztecs have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Strathmore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gerardo Ruiz, who rushed for 170 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries. Those 170 rushing yards gave Ruiz a new career-high. Isaiah Colunga was another key player, rushing for 105 yards and three TDs on only five carries.

Farmersville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Strathmore, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
