Basketball Recap: Carroll Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Dom Keferl and Paxton Crane

Carroll played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 70-48 to the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Carroll's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Paxton Crane, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds, and Dom Keferl, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Keferl a new career-high in points.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers had a senior duo take command as Dereon Truesdale shot 47% from the field en route to 14 points in addition to six boards and five steals and Drelyn Truesdale went 8-for-13 on his way to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Drelyn's third in a row with at least 16 points. Zen Szaferski also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Carroll has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
