Volleyball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Word of God Academy

There's no place like home for Word of God Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Ascension Classical Admiral 3-0 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-18.

Haddie Giles paced Word of God Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Giles got some help from Gentry Allen and her 14 assists. Kallie Pizarro controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Word of God Academy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. As for Ascension Classical, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Word of God Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Longview Christian on the 25th. As for Ascension Classical, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Mount Olive Christian at 5:30 p.m.
