Football Recap: Allen Skates Past Mounds with Ease + How To Watch

Allen barely beat Mounds the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-7 victory over the Golden Eagles. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 31.6 points per game.

Allen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Davion Byrd, who rushed for 69 yards and a pair of TDs. Kayd Bell was another key rusher, rushing for 63 yards and two scores.

Another reason for the win was Allen's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Bell was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Quinton Box got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Box, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Allen's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Mounds, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Allen has already played their next game, a 21-16 win against Wewoka on the 10th. As for Mounds, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 67-0 defeat against Liberty on the 10th.
