Basketball Recap: Bohdan Zeitz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Needville over George Ranch

Needville played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the George Ranch Longhorns, falling 71-48. The Bluejays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.

Needville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bohdan Zeitz, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Ortiz, who posted 12 points and five assists.

Needville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for George Ranch, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Needville will host Wharton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wharton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season. As for George Ranch, they will welcome Alief Elsik at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
