            Basketball Recap: Carroll Chargers vs. Homestead Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Carroll was the  67-61 winner over Homestead when they last played one another  back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Carroll Chargers received a  blow  on Friday as they fell  51-37 to the Homestead Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 152nd, while the Spartans are ranked 31st).
 Carroll's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Paxton Crane, who  dropped  a double-double with 13 points and ten  boards. Another player making a difference was  Brody Fisher, who  posted ten  points and five  rebounds.
Carroll has  been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record  this season. The  win (which was Homestead's third in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
 Carroll has already played their next game,  a  60-53  victory against North Central on the 22nd. As for Homestead, they will head out to  square off against Norwell  at 7:30  p.m.  on February 28th.
