Volleyball Game Preview: Coconino Panthers vs. Flagstaff Eagles

Coconino is 0-10 against Flagstaff since November of 2020 but things could change on Monday. The Panthers will challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Coconino turned things around against Mohave on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Thunderbirds. The Panthers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 24th (when they won 3-0).

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Coconino was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-8, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Flagstaff got the win against Northland Prep Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

Flagstaff's win bumped their record up to 31-6. As for Coconino, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.

Coconino suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Flagstaff in their previous meeting on October 6th. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
