Baseball Recap: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars vs. Severn School Admirals
Our Lady of Mount Carmel extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 7-11 in the process. They fell 10-6 to the Severn School Admirals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Admirals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-8 back in March.
Andy Molina-Sosa made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs.
As for Severn School, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.
On Severn School's side, Colby Benz tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Benz has posted since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Blanck, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lawrence Jacobs, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As of now, neither Our Lady of Mount Carmel nor Severn School have any future games scheduled.
