Baseball Recap: Biglerville Takes a Loss

Biglerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Delone Catholic Squires. The Canners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Squires apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Allen Roberts was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. He has become a key player for Biglerville: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Aiden Hoffman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Bo Forney, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Biglerville's record now sits at 2-4. As for Delone Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biglerville will square off against James Buchanan at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Delone Catholic, they will take on St. John's Catholic Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
