Preview: Heritage Christian Academy Lions vs. Temple Christian Watchmen
Heritage Christian Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Temple Christian Watchmen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Temple Christian will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Monday, Heritage Christian Academy earned a 42-33 victory over Lakewood Presbyterian. The victory was just what Heritage Christian Academy needed coming off of a 53-19 loss in their prior game.
Heritage Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sara Spangler, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Spangler hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Addison Klock was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Temple Christian couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to Joshua Christian 39-33.
Faustina Academy's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Heritage Christian Academy's defeat dropped theirs to 1-2.
Heritage Christian Academy barely slipped by Temple Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 41-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heritage Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
