Preview: Methodist Children's Home Bulldogs vs. Harvest Christian Academy Saints
Methodist Children's Home has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Harvest Christian Academy Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After soaring to a 50-point win in their last game, Methodist Children's Home came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Chisholm Trail Academy by a score of 55-53. Methodist Children's Home has not had much luck with Chisholm Trail Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Methodist Children's Home's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah Williams, who scored 17 points, and Londen Bickham who scored 17 points. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasser Zapata, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Harvest Christian Academy were a bit more limited in their match last Friday. They were outmatched by Grayson Christian at home and fell 50-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Harvest Christian Academy has scored all season.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Andy Cumbest and
Logan Harrington, who each put up four points.
Methodist Children's Home's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5. As for Harvest Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Methodist Children's Home lost to Harvest Christian Academy at home by a decisive 56-39 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Methodist Children's Home, Bryson Chambers (who scored 21 points along with six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
