Basketball Game Preview: Burkeville Mustangs vs. Leggett Pirates

Burkeville hasn't had much luck against Leggett recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Burkeville Mustangs will challenge the Leggett Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Burkeville is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Burkeville will head into Tuesday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 55) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Goodrich 2-0. The two-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leggett). They breezed by Goodrich to the tune of 89-24 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Burkeville's record is now 5-10. As for Leggett, their record now sits at 6-14.

Burkeville came up short against Leggett when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 58-47. Can Burkeville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
