The Crockett Cougars and the Lake Creek Lions squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Crockett Cougars had to settle for second. Crockett was outmatched by Lake Creek on the road and fell 78-27. While losing is never fun, Crockett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 567th, while Lake Creek is ranked 54th).

Lake Creek was led to victory by Eli Morcos and Tyvonn Byars. Morcos rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns, while Byars rushed for 208 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Lake Creek also got help from Brooks Mcgee who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.

Crockett's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Lake Creek, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Crockett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lake Creek is on the road again on Friday and play against Port Neches-Groves at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Port Neches-Groves is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
