Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Rockville's Winning Streak

If Rockville was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Norwich RVT on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodstock Academy Centaurs on Wednesday. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Centaurs earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Rockville ultimately came up short, they really made Woodstock Academy work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 19-25, 25-15, 25-14.

Alex Angeli paced Rockville's offense, picking up 15 kills. Angeli got some help from Tibor Elcsics and his 41 assists. Finally, Lucas Britney kept Rockville's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

With the loss, Rockville broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7. As for Woodstock Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Rockville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodstock Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Wolcott RVT at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
