Liberty-Benton is a perfect 3-0 against Arlington since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Liberty-Benton has three straight victories, Arlington has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Liberty-Benton took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Elmwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles skirted past the Royals 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 14, 2025.

Megan Gerken made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over eight innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Gerken was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Carley Schwab was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Kylie Modd was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Arlington came up short against Arcadia on Monday, falling 15-2.

Liberty-Benton's record is now 11-5. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went Liberty-Benton's way against Arlington in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Liberty-Benton made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
