Reading Memorial came out on top against Watertown on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Rockets blew past the Raiders 14-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rockets considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Nate Vitarisi was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Sam Clark was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs.

Reading Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Reading Memorial has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Watertown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Reading Memorial will welcome Wakefield Memorial at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rockets 1.8, the Warriors 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Watertown, they are taking a road trip to face off against Winchester at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders are facing the Red & Black at the right time seeing as the Red & Black are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
