Basketball Recap: Treutlen Comes Up Short

Treutlen lost against Telfair County on January 10th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Treutlen Vikings took a blow against the Telfair County Trojans, falling 60-26. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Telfair County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aamoni Posley out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Jada Batten, who posted five points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Treutlen and nudges their season record down to 8-9. As for Telfair County, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Treutlen won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dooly County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Telfair County, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Hawkinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Telfair County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
