Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Catholic Knights vs. Anniston Bulldogs

Montgomery Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-42 win over Prattville Christian Academy.

Hannah Smith was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ajah Tuggle, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 10 points and six boards.

Montgomery Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Anniston waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 54-49 W against the Tigers. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Tigers are ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montgomery Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Anniston, their victory bumped their record up to 20-6.
