Basketball Recap: Westhope/Newburg Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Westhope/Newburg rose to the challenge on Friday. They snuck past the Wilton/Wing Miners with a 54-48 victory. The win was nothing new for the Sioux as they're now sitting on four straight.

It was another big night for Hunter Tolstad, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 22 boards. Those 22 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Walker Braaten was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Westhope/Newburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

Westhope/Newburg's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Wilton/Wing, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-2.

Westhope/Newburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-33 defeat against Bishop Ryan on the 22nd. Wilton/Wing has also already played their next match (against Our Redeemer's Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
