Football Recap: Marquette Catholic Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Marquette Catholic and Carterville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Marquette Catholic had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Lions and fell 42-14. While losing is never fun, the Explorers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Lions are ranked 119th).

Toby Eberlin threw for 35 yards. Jack Rea was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Jhordyn Croft rushed for 51 yards.

Marquette Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Carterville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
