Sterling is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight matches on Thursday. They lost 6-1 to DeKalb. That's two games in a row now that Sterling have lost by exactly five goals.

Meanwhile, Winnebago kept a clean sheet against Pecatonica on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Pecatonica.

The win got Winnebago back to even at 8-8-1. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Everything went Sterling's way against Winnebago in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Sterling made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
