Houston Academy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Slocomb Red Tops. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 4th.

Millie Gay paced Houston Academy's offense, picking up 33 kills. Gay got some help from Molly Rutland and her 24 assists. Gay was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Houston Academy's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Slocomb, their loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Houston Academy has already played their next match (against Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Slocomb, they will head out on the road to challenge Northside Methodist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
