Baseball Game Preview: Colton Yellowjackets vs. Eisenhower Eagles

The Colton Yellowjackets will face off against the Eisenhower Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Colton will be strutting in after a victory while Eisenhower will be coming in after a defeat.

If Colton beats Eisenhower with six runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Yellowjackets walked away with a 6-3 win over Arroyo Valley on Thursday. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Evan Darrington and Andres Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Darrington went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Hernandez went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Hernandez has posted since back in March.

Colton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Eisenhower's offense. They fell just short of Bloomington by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Eisenhower's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Colton, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
