Baseball Game Preview: LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls vs. Riverdale Raiders

The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls will face off against the Riverdale Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. LaBelle will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

LaBelle is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Estero on Monday as LaBelle made off with a 15-5 win. The Cowboys/Cowgirls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Walter McKown spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, LaBelle let Jackson White and Elijah Williams run wild. White went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Williams went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in February. Jackson Perkins was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

LaBelle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Riverdale came up short against Fort Myers on Monday and fell 7-3.

The victory got LaBelle back to even at 6-6. As for Riverdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
