Softball Recap: Haslett Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Haslett came into Friday's contest having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Okemos Chiefs by a score of 9-4 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.

Eleni Skorna made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with six RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adalyn Kalich, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Aleah Burgtorf was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Haslett's win bumped their record up to 2-16. As for Okemos, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Haslett will host Ionia at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Okemos, they will head out to square off against St. Johns at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redwings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.7 runs per game on average), something the Chiefs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
