Basketball Recap: Elk Grove Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Elk Grove saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Granite Bay Grizzlies.

When it comes to explaining why Elk Grove lost, don't look at Josh Wilks. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points and eight rebounds. The game was Wilks' third in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathias MacPhail, who earned 14 points.

Myles Mike went supernova For Granite Bay., going 9-for-13 to rack up 26 points. Another player making a difference was Darnell Turner Jr., who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Elk Grove's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Granite Bay, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Elk Grove and Granite Bay could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Thundering Herd (ranked 363rd) will meet Whitney (ranked 51st) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Granite Bay will challenge Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (402 vs. 2).
