Volleyball Recap: St. James Academy Falls Short Against Ranked Blue Valley Southwest + How To Watch

St. James Academy faced Blue Valley Southwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Thunder fell 2-0 to the Timberwolves. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Timberwolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While St. James Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Blue Valley Southwest work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 26-24.

Mya Lee paced St. James Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Lee got some help from Ellen Dorsey and her 12 assists. Dorsey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Leading Blue Valley Southwest to victory were Melia Peters and Jessica Howe. Peters had ten digs, while Howe had. What's more, Howe posted two digs, the most she's had over her last seven contests.

St. James Academy's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Blue Valley Southwest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.
