Making Waves Academy took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Holy Names, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Marlins skirted past the Monarchs 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Marlins as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Making Waves Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 15-13.

Making Waves Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Holy Names, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Making Waves Academy is set to take on their familiar foe California School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Holy Names will square off against rival Fremont Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
