Football Recap: Christian Mcneill Key Part of Team Effort in Highlanders Win + How To Watch

McLean won the last time they faced Edison and things went their way on Friday too. The Highlanders strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 29-12. The Highlanders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

McLean got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian McNeill out in front who threw for 299 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. That's the most passing yards McNeill has posted since back in September of 2024. McLean's leading receiver Steven Conroy was McNeill's top target yet again, picking up 126 receiving yards and three scores.

Despite the loss, Edison had strong showings from Jordan Mitchell, who threw for 200 yards and one TD while completing 77.3% of his passes, and Carter Cantrell, who picked up 112 receiving yards and one touchdown.

McLean's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Edison, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McLean will take on Yorktown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edison, they will challenge Hayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
