The West Rowan Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Carson Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

West Rowan gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Lake Norman Charter as they made off with an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Maddox Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Blevins, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Eli Graham was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

West Rowan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Norman Charter only posted a batting average of .214.

Meanwhile, while Carson put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Central Cabarrus. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Vikings.

Kendal Sifford looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Carson is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, TJ Harris was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Corbin Hales, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

West Rowan pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Carson, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both West Rowan and Carson just can't seem to miss. The Falcons have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Carson struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

West Rowan took their victory against Carson when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
