West Washington put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Orleans Bulldogs with a sharp 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Senators, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Hayden Morrow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alex Williams was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Cole Timberlake was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

West Washington pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Orleans, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Washington will venture away from home to face off against Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orleans, they will face off against Perry Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Commodores have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
