Baseball Recap: Woden Takes a Loss

Woden and Hemphill squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Woden had to settle for second. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 12-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2018.

Woden saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Velasco, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Another was Landon Nerren, who earned two RBI and one run.

Woden's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Hemphill, their victory bumped their record up to 12-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Woden beat the Hornets by a score of 5-2 on Thursday.
