Softball Recap: Baldwyn Has No Trouble Against Thrasher

While Baldwyn didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by an 18-10 margin over the Thrasher Rebels on Thursday. Considering the Bearcats have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Caroline Craven, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Murphy, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Baldwyn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thrasher only posted an OBP of .425.

Baldwyn's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.3 runs. As for Thrasher, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Baldwyn Bearcats duke it out with Jumpertown Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thrasher, they will head out to challenge Booneville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
