Recap: Decatur Bulldogs vs. Chamblee Bulldogs
The Decatur Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Chamblee Bulldogs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Decatur snuck past Chamblee with a 53-48 victory. Given Decatur's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Chamblee is ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chamblee lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Starr, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ryan Mccord, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Decatur and bumps their season record up to 14-5. As for Chamblee, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Decatur's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tucker at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Tucker is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games. As for Chamblee, they will head out on the road to face off against Lithonia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
