League recap: Boone overpowering for Shorewood in past week

3A Wesco - South's top pitcher this week was Shorewood's Sam Boone. Over the past week, he racked up two wins and 17 strikeouts.

Meadowdale outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its four total wins led the league. The Mavericks beat Everett 8-4.

The Thunderbirds stole 14 bases this week, adding to their league-leading 38 steals on the year.

Shorewood's pitching staff was best in the league in terms of hits allowed, with just six over the past week. On the year, the Thunderbirds have allowed only 24 hits in nine games.

Boone was the top pitcher this week as he paced the league with two wins and 17 Ks.

The league boasted seven .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Jacob Bockelie, who collected five hits in nine at bats for a .556 average.



Shorewood's Boone struck out nine Shorecrest hitters en route to an 8-0 victory on March 27. Over six innings of work, he gave up three hits and zero runs.

Boone threw a shutout as he led the Thunderbirds to victory over Glacier Peak, 7-0, on Tuesday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out eight, while giving up three hits.
