Recap: Archbishop Bergan Knights vs. Lincoln Lutheran Warriors
The Archbishop Bergan Knights entered their tilt with the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Archbishop Bergan enjoyed a cozy 40-26 victory over Lincoln Lutheran on Thursday. Given Archbishop Bergan's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Lincoln Lutheran is ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Archbishop Bergan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Paige Frickenstein led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Frickenstein hasn't dropped below two blocks for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Summer Bojanski, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Lincoln Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Jenna Luebbe, who scored 15 points.
Archbishop Bergan's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Bergan will take on Scotus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bishop Neumann on January 19th.
