Baseball Recap: Bennett Drops Season-High Score on Fort Lupton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bennett). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fort Lupton Bluedevils a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bluedevils: they've now won three in a row.

Brody Hawes was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-2. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rafael Ibarra, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Hawes wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Bennett lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory got Bennett back to even at 3-3. As for Fort Lupton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Bennett will be taking part in a tournament against The Classical Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Lupton, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Middle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
