Laurens Academy faced Richard Winn Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Crusaders strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 78-64. The Crusaders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Laurens Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Hardy, who rushed for 368 yards and four TDs while picking up 15.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 152 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Hardy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Collins, who rushed for 156 yards and three scores on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Laurens Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 613 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The win (which was Laurens Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Richard Winn Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
