It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Stone can now relate to. They fell just short of the Laurel Golden Tornadoes by a score of 24-21 on Friday. The Tomcats' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Stone lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ayden Green, who rushed for 113 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Zander Howard, who rushed for 42 yards and one score.

Stone's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Laurel, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-6.

Stone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laurel, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 31-6 defeat against Brookhaven on the 28th.
