Volleyball Recap: Tuscola Mountaineers vs. Franklin Panthers

Tuscola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Franklin Panthers. If the Mountaineers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-11, 25-15.

Samantha Horton paced Tuscola's offense, picking up five kills. Horton got some help from Stella Yarrington and her six assists.

Franklin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bristol Brooks out in front who hit 100% for five kills and eight digs and seven aces. With that strong performance, Brooks is now averaging an impressive 2.4 aces per game. Kamden Reis also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Tuscola's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Franklin, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Tuscola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Pisgah on the 4th. As for Franklin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against North Henderson on the 4th.
