Recap: Simsbury Trojans vs. Capital Prep Trailblazers
The Simsbury Trojans's four-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Capital Prep 66-28 on the road. That looming 66-28 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Simsbury yet this season.
Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malique Marshall, who scored six points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marshall has scored all season. Oshoy Fray was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Capital Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Simsbury's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Capital Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simsbury will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bristol Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bristol Eastern is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Capital Prep will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bristol Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
