Softball Recap: Walden Grove Red Wolves vs. Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks
There's no place like home for Walden Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks by a score of 8-3 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Red Wolves: when they faced off against the Nighthawks on Monday, they had to take a 12-2 defeat.
Maddie Holzer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Natalie Holzer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Patricia Mejia, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
