Baseball Recap: Mcloud Drops Season-High Score on Beggs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McLoud). Everything went their way against the Beggs Demons on Friday as McLoud made off with a 17-4 victory. The Redskins not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 6, 2024.

Austin Albertson was a standout: he scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Eli Nemecek, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

McLoud always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for McLoud and bumps their season record up to 2-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 12 hits in those games compared to only three in the others. As for Beggs, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, McLoud will take on Preston at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Beggs, they will square off against Sequoyah at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
