The New Braunfels Thunder Homeschool will head out on the road to face off against the St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Braunfels Thunder will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Friday, New Braunfels Thunder made easy work of Founders Classical Academy and carried off a 14-1 win. The Homeschool might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Immanuel Fuentes made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payce Taylor, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Paxton Lerma, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
New Braunfels Thunder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Founders Classical Academy only posted an OBP of .350.
Meanwhile, St. Stephen's Episcopal came up short against Oakridge on Sunday and fell 4-1. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Stephen's Episcopal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Connor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
New Braunfels Thunder pushed their record up to 13-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
St. Stephen's Episcopal's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: New Braunfels Thunder hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. It's a different story for St. Stephen's Episcopal, though, as they've only averaged .211. Will they be able to contain New Braunfels Thunder's hitters?
New Braunfels Thunder took their victory against St. Stephen's Episcopal in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Homeschool since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
